HBAWS represents its professional membership to promote and support the home building and remodeling industry. Established in 1959, the Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem is a non profit trade association of building professionals affiliated with the North Carolina Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
Governed by an elected Board of Directors, HBAWS represents its builder members in Forsyth and Stokes counties involved in residential / commercial building and remodeling, and land development activities; and associate member businesses and professionals engaged in activities related to the building industry.
By effectively representing and serving its members, the Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem strives to meet the community’s need for quality, affordable construction and renovation of housing and commercial space.
The HBAWS creates unique opportunities within the community of homebuilding professionals for members to build key relationships and increase their profitability.
The Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem is dedicated to providing government advocacy services to our members. Your membership and participation support a grassroots program which advocates for Builders at every level of government.
HBAWS shares a Joint Legislative Committee with the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors. This committee meets monthly to discuss issues facing our community like UDO updates, housing affordability, private property rights, and economic development. The Committee works with elected officials and staff from across WSRAR and HBAWS’ jurisdiction (Forsyth, Stokes, Davie, Wilkes, Yadkin, and Davidson Counties) to educate them on the real estate and building industries. Over the years, our committee has been successful in protecting real estate, building, and our consumers in a variety of legislative efforts, which you can read about here.
HBAWS supports candidates for local, state, and federal office through participation in a political action committee, NC BUILD PAC.
