Course will enable general contractors, superintendents, project managers, and trade contractors to: understand the need for and components of a Drug-Free Workplace program; recognize the legal concerns around implementing reasonable cause and how to implement; learn a comprehensive approach to assisting employee wellness; understand what Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is and how it impacts the construction industry including brain science behind addiction, overdose deaths, opioids, fentanyl , and Naloxone; recognize the signs and symptoms of substance use; use appropriate language around the topic of Substance Use Disorder; understand they can be a part of the change that can save a life, including how to administer Naloxone/Narcan; be hopeful that recovery does happen; make resources available for employers, employees & their families; walk away with customizable policies and checklists for owners/supervisors
